US-based data company acquires Vancouver housing analytics firm

US-based data-driven solutions company Zonda has increased its Canadian footprint with its acquisition of Vancouver-based Urban Analytics, a source of up-to-date housing market information for Western Canada in the past 25 years.

“Expanding Zonda’s reach into Canada and the US multifamily and urban markets has always been a long-term strategy for us, and we are doing just that with the acquisition of Urban Analytics,” said Jeff Meyers, CEO of Zonda. “We welcome Urban Analytics to the family and look forward to integrating its indispensable urban-focused data into our platforms. There is no platform like it in the US.”

The acquisition is the first in Zonda’s plans for expansion, which is slated to cover other major markets like Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa.

The deal will also involve the implementation of Urban Analytics systems – which include up-to-date information on market conditions, price and buyer trends, contemplated projects, and many others – as part of Zonda’s US-facing solutions.

“This is an exciting day for Urban Analytics,” said Michael Ferreira, managing principal of Urban Analytics. “Being a part of Zonda strengthens our position in Canada and will allow US clients to take advantage of the unique urban data we offer.”
