OREA to conduct webinar on assignment agreements

Interactive webinar will cater to OREA members who have questions about assignment agreements and the processes involved

In a bid to educate industry professionals on the topic of real estate assignments, the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) announced that it would be conducting a webinar on May 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

The online seminar, titled “Assignment Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS): What’s the big deal?”, is expected to run for 30-minutes. The live webinar is slated to feature OREA Standard Forms legal counsel Lou Radomsky.

“This webinar will enable members to become more aware of, and prepared for, situations involving an Assignment Agreement of Purchase and Sale,” OREA Standard Forms senior manager Cassandra Agnew Walker said in the event announcement.

“They may encounter an assignment situation over the course of their real estate career and this information will help them in handling that type of negotiation and ultimate assignment sale,” Walker added.

Offered on a first-come, first-served basis, the interactive webinar will cater to OREA members who have questions about assignment agreements—which have seen increased media prominence as of late—and the processes involved. Would-be participants need to register in advance to receive their log-in links.

“Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss and share their own experiences with assignments,” according to the announcement. “This webinar is just one in a series related to standard forms that is being presented by OREA this year.”
