First week report of MPC CEO

Paul Taylor outlines plans for the association’s future endeavours

In a video released on the company’s YouTube channel on Wednesday (February 3), Mortgage Professionals Canada CEO Paul Taylor spoke of his first week at the job, which was marked mainly by meetings with the staff and other officials.

Taylor, who took the reins of the association in late January after a 5-month selection process, said that his first few days were spent in familiarizing himself with the organization and the services it offers.

The newly minted CEO noted that he coordinated closely with major players such as brokers, agents, and lenders, who all gave him what he called “a crash course” in the intricacies of the industry. MPC is his first foray in the mortgage business, after having worked with the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario for over five years.

Taylor outlined his long-range plans for MPC, which include fostering stronger intra- and inter-organizational ties.

“The three main priorities for the association over the next two to three years will be to strengthen government relations at all levels, increase our membership and membership engagement, and increase consumer awareness of the value of working with a mortgage broker,” Taylor said in the video.

“In the coming weeks, I'll be prioritizing arranging meetings with other government representatives and regulators across the country,” Taylor added.

He said that more details of this long-term plan will come in next two or three updates, which would be in short video format to be posted in the association’s YouTube channel every “couple of weeks”.

Taylor encouraged those with inquiries to get in touch with him through phone at 416-644-5465 or via email at [email protected].
