Brokers recognized in Whistler

DLC wrapped up its national sales conference over the weekend, but not before doling out awards to some of its brokers

Gary Mauris, president of Dominion Lending Centres, honoured three separate brokers for their individual achievements.

Nicole Petty, an agent with Dominion Lending Centres Home Capital Solutions, took home the Most Improved award. Nicole went from funding $5.1 million in her first year to almost $16 million the following year.

Waldish Dehal of Dominion Lending Centres A Better Way won Rookie of the Year. Dehal funded an impressive $22 million in her first year.

And last but not least, the Inspiration Award went to Deb White, owner of Dominion Lending Centres White House Mortgages.

Mauris told White’s compelling story about how White launched her career in 2000 as a single mother of four and quickly became a top producer with the company.

White now has four locations and owns her office location, the White House.

The conference, which was held in beautiful – if a slightly overcast – Whistler, B.C., left brokers with bellies full of great food and drink, and their heads full of world-class sales and marketing training, much of which was provided by its very own leading brokers.

The four night event featured the usual fun and games; the event was kicked off by a games night and featured a number of nature-inspired activities such as horseback riding, ziplining, hiking, bicycling, and much more. The fun culminated in a mountaintop disco party that drew industry players in droves to the dance floor.

It wasn’t all fun and games, however. A number of DLC brokers shared their knowledge and expertise by hosting learning centre sessions, which focused on lead generation, social media, winning referrals and a whole host of broker-related business development topics.

Inspirational speakers included The Wealthy Barber David Chilton, sales coach Todd Duncan, and police officer Tad Milmine, who gave a touching talk about bullying.

As usual at these sorts of events, leading lenders set up shop to discuss upcoming products and strengthen relationships with their ever-important broker partners.
