Tomorrow’s homebuyer is already here – millennials – and if you aren’t conducting business from a smartphone, you’ll be missing out on this every growing market of technology loving first-time buyers.
“It is where the new demographic of clients live, where they do business today. In 2015, about 62% of internet traffic is coming from smartphones and tablets,” says Ben Salami, the founder of the Canadian Mortgage App and CEO of Bendigi Technologies. “To compete in the internet space, you’ll need more than just a mobile friendly website – you need a mobile app strategy to help and further engage your existing and future clients.
The Canadian Mortgage App is the number one ranked mortgage app with over 3,000 Five Star ratings and well-over 7 million screen views. It has been ranked by Apple and Google as one of the top 25 free business apps, and is proving popular with some of the leading brokers in the mortgage and the real estate space.
“We are now using the engine of the Canadian Mortgage App and customizing it for top producing mortgage brokers’, Ron Butler, Collin Bruce of Dominion Lending Centres and James Loewen of Loewen Group, to name a few,” says Salami. “Its success on iOS, Android and the BlackBerry platform has emerged organically via our social media integration. We have spent a significant time perfecting this app, because it is where the millennials are looking when they are researching information on mortgages or insurance quotes.”
CMHC recently conducted a survey of 3,510 mortgage consumers in March – all of whom had attained a mortgage within the prior 12 months; and of those surveyed, 78 percent of consumers started their search online prior to attaining a mortgage.
Results from that same survey showed that of those who used the internet for mortgage information, 56% accessed lender websites; 24% visited broker websites; and 15% used both.
