The people of B.C. have spoken, and their plans to axe the HST are poised to grow originations for brokers when homebuyers snatch up new high-end condos now idling on the market. But there may be some “short-term pain” to get through before that payday.

I think the reality of the B.C decision is...the short term gain of getting rid of the HST will produce the long term pain of not having it.Canada and its provinces have the strength and quality of life we enjoy, to a great extent supported by the progressive tax structure of GST/HST..providing less reliance on any income tax increases and the benefits to corporate taxes that encourage investments..
