Community group alleges that the Burnaby council’s 2010 zoning amendment introduced drastic and potentially unwanted changes to the city plan

Houses are utilities and should be regulated by bodies like BCUC. Here is a picture for contrast. To the best of my knowledge, China has some 100 million empty apartments kept as "investments". Even China's largest mall in the world is empty. Is this what we want to see in Burnaby eventually while our workers get evicted from Burnaby, and waste their lives on clogged highways to get to far-away suburbs they can barely afford. The Mayor can not longer hide behind processes that cripple our current reality. If the provincial government does nothing, the Mayor needs to take over those duties left in limbo till we elect a more competent provincial government. Kudos to those protesting against demovictions. Keep up the good work guys. Our support is with you. Check the European models - e.g.. Amsterdam - that have found ways to protect the ordinary citizens from predatory capitalism. Why does it cost 14 million USD to buy a French citizenship and a few hundred thousand to buy Canadian citizenship via Quebec and PEI. Why do we still sell citizenships in Canada when it is clear that these rich people have abused the Canadian system? We'll have to vote NDP at the next provincial elections. We need to tax the heck out of RE speculators and send some dishonest RE agents to prison where they belong. Are we forgetting that Vancouver is the city that was not allowed to have a stock market. Yes, this is our local reality. We are a magnet for dishonest characters - the last Western frontier. All government layers need to clean up this cesspool or go away and let new governments restore a healthy business environment. Or read the Bible now and then.
