Has Canada Revenue put the fear of God into brokers? Well, at least the fear of an audit, if the latest MortgageBrokerNews poll is any indication.

Personally, I've always used a professional to handle my taxes. Just like our own pitch with mortgages, it's always best to use someone that knows the industry (and that can help navigate all of the complicated nuances).

It so happens that I became a tax professional, as many transactions we broker for our clients have tax implications.

Never mess with CRA as their computers have long memories and they are merciless when they think you're cheating.

If you keep your nose clean, they are just as likely to point out a missed deduction as an improper one in an audit.
