Industry fights cancer
Together, Melissa Rizzi, a broker with Mortgage Alliance and Shubha Dasgupta, a broker with Capital Lending Centre, have collectively contributed thousands of hours to raising awareness and money for cancer research.

The two formed CMI Cancer Fighters, a group if mortgage industry professionals, dedicated to fighting cancer.

“Membership of the group consists of individuals compelled to make a difference in the lives of people living with cancer, those who are already committed to the fight and those that are actively participating in supporting the Canadian Cancer Society; our group’s chosen beneficiary,” Shubha Dasgupta said. “We provide these incredible individuals and organizations with a Nationally recognized association of likeminded people to participate with, network with and stand united with. We are driven by the goal to earn and reach milestone status levels.

“The group provides a platform from which individuals can achieve milestones with the knowledge that they do not stand alone in the fight. Our goal is to extend a greater reach, recognition and ensure that our efforts result in a positive impact to the fight against Cancer.”

Dasgupta’s hope is that the group will become a unified industry voice in the fight against cancer.

“Our members are permitted to raise funds through any fundraising channels they are most comfortable with and to develop relationships in the community and with their Circles of Influence as they deem appropriate,” he said. “We also invite our members to participate in Society created events such as Relay For Life. We have created milestones for our members to try and achieve. Each milestone earns a badge or sticker which can be used in the member’s marketing, online, print and business cards letting the community know that you, the member, are proud of your contributions.”

The group is hosting a launch party and the details are as follows:
