Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax top economic performers says Conference Board

A Conference Board report says that Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax will outperform other Canadian cities thanks to a weak Canadian dollar and growth in the US economy.

A Conference Board report says that Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax will outperform other Canadian cities thanks to a weak Canadian dollar and growth in the US economy. Its forecast is that GDP in Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax will grow by 3.1 per cent and will stay strong into 2016. Hamilton will grow by 2.7 per cent; Montreal 2.6 per cent; Winnipeg 2.5 per cent; Quebec by 2.4 per cent; Victoria 2.1 per cent; Regina 1.9 per cent; and Saskatoon 1.8 per cent. Slower growth will be evident in Ottawa (1.3 per cent), Calgary (1.2 per cent) and Edmonton (0.8 per cent).
