Superbroker leads charity charge

You mortgage brokers sure are a charitable bunch and it’s even easier to give back to the community when your brokerage leads the charge; which is exactly what one superbroker is doing.

“We are excited to announce that we have chosen to support Breakfast Club of Canada, a charity dedicated to ensuring all Canadian children receive two essential elements for growth and learning: a nutritious breakfast and an environment that fosters self-esteem,” a release from TMG The Mortgage Group published Wednesday states.

According to The Breakfast Club of Canada one in seven Canadian children go to school each day hungry. The club’s mission is to ensure these children receive the nutrients required to succeed. And for its part, TMG The Mortgage Group is already halfway to reaching its financial goal.

"We hope to reach a total of $50,000, and we have already made a giant step towards this goal, with a total of $25,000 raised so far," said Mark Kerzner, President of TMG The Mortgage Group.

Thanks to the efforts of The Breakfast Club of Canada, nearly 130,000 who otherwise would go hungry now enjoy nutritious meals each morning. The program has been implemented in 1,266 schools across the country.

It’s an essential program to help ensure school kids are given the proper nutrients to succeed and the club is thankful for TMG's support.

"At the Club, we believe that if given the right tools, every child has the potential to become a leader in his community," said Daniel Germain, president and founder of Breakfast Club of Canada. "We are proud to work with committed partners like TMG, who share our dream of ensuring every Canadian student start their school day with an equal chance to succeed."

Good for TMG for supporting a worthy cause that Dominion Lending Centres spearheaded nationally with Breakfast for Learning in 2012! Children are our future and I’m glad to see other mortgage companies investing in this incredible cause. In just the first three months of our partnership with Breakfast for Learning, DLC contributed more than 26,000 to BFL! On a personal level, our franchise, DLC Canadian Mortgage Experts raised $8,440 during our annual golf tournament in support of BFL – a new record for us! When children are well nourished, studies show they’re more alert and ready to learn at school. It’s amazing to be able to support our future generations!
