For brokers wanting to learn a little more about the homes they help get mortgages for, a new education series is being offered through CAAMP by a leading home inspection consulting firm.
Carson Dunlop and the CAAMP have formed a strategic training partnership to provide new professionally designed continuing education courses for mortgage professionals, to be offered through CAAMP’s online learning platform, Mortgage Campus.
“The courses are all about taking technical knowledge and making it elegantly simple that a broker can learn about the property,” Brian Bell, vice-president of business development for Carson Dunlop told MortgageBrokerNews.ca. “It’s just giving them a lot more ammunition on a product that they deal with every day.”
The program which has expanded to 19 courses since 1998, was launched real estate professionals in mind, commented Bell. “We thought it would be a natural extension to do it for mortgage brokers.”
According to Bell, the company recently piloted the course with select mortgage brokers and the feedback was positive. “The content was well received since it helped them to learn more about their own home, knowledge which they can then share with clients.”
“This education partnership enhances CAAMP’s ability to offer quality, relevant continuing education to all mortgage professionals. The new courses will broaden the variety of topics currently available for AMPs seeking to diversify their industry knowledge while earning continuing education units to maintain their designation.” said Jim Murphy, president and CEO of CAAMP in a statement about the partnership.
