The MAC Rally of Hope pulled into St. John’s, Friday – some 12 day after setting off from Port Moody, B.C., in its annual motorcycle ride to raise funds and hope for cancer causes.
“Even more impressive than the thousands of kilometers traveled is the thousands of dollars that were raised,” said Mortgage Alliance President and CEO Michael Beckette, who once again led the Rally, seen as the broker channel’s biggest charitable fundraiser. “We'd like to thank all our supporters for making this year's event a HUGE success.”
This year’s final tally won’t be known for another month, but the company has pledged to raise over $200,000 for the charity, including its participation in the Weekend To End All Women’s Cancers. The Rally raised over $110,000 in 2011.
All funds this year will, in fact, be channeled into that organization -- The Weekend To End All Women’s Cancers
Plans are already underway for the 2013 MAC Rally for Hope ride.
