Housing starts slow in US
The level of housing starts in the US slowed in August but revised figures for July show there is improvement in the market. Last month’s 14.4 per cent decline is considered a ‘summer blip’ while July’s adjusted figure is the highest level of starts since 2007. There was a small decline in starts for single-family homes in August but that was off the back of a surge in the previous month; condo starts fell 31.7 per cent. Read the full story.
