As the population ages and demand for healthcare intensifies many investors view medical facilities as a good bet due to the financial stability of tenants: “Doctors are paid by the government in Canada, so they’re pretty secure tenants,” Colliers’ Huy Lam told the Chronicle Herald. He says that the sector has grown from $126 million in 2011 to an estimated $211 million in 2015 with growth expected to continue in the coming years. The medical sector is seen as protected from many factors such as the economy and technology.
