CMHC recently conducted a survey of 3,510 mortgage consumers in March – all of whom had attained a mortgage within the prior 12 months; and of those surveyed, 78 percent of consumers started their search online prior to attaining a mortgage.
Results from that same survey showed that of those who used the internet for mortgage information, 56% accessed lender websites; 24% visited broker websites; and 15% used both.
